Vegetarian Society

All our bars of Organic Meltdown also carry the Vegetarian Society logo. This organisation is the oldest charitable organisation of its type and focuses on promoting understanding and respect for those people who have chosen this particular lifestyle. Their role is to provide nutrional information relating to vegetarian foods, and diets to individuals and organisations alike, and to promote and build awareness of vegetarianism through the press and media.

Matt and Hayley the founders behind Organic meltdown are keen followers of the vegetarian lifestyle and they are constantly encouraging the rest of the team to indulge in vegetarian dishes and to consume five portions of fruit and vegetables a day. In fact Hayley's Indian Dal Tarka made of lentils, onion, tomatoes, garlic and spices is one such delicious dish which has made many of us convert to ways of the vegetable.

With so much focus now on obesity and healthier lifestyles, vegetarianism can provide the required nutrients and vitamins, and at the same time reduce your levels of salt intake and saturated fats.

We are proud to wear the Vegetarian Logo on the packaging of all our Organic Meltdown chocolate bars, to shout about the fact we use absolutely no animal by-products in the production our recipes.

We also see the society as an important educational and promotional tool for a vegetarian lifestyle which goes hand-in-hand with the goals of organic farmers and Fair Trade supporters everywhere.
